Desktop Services

Atos Origin’s managed workplace services for desktop management include Atos™ Workplace Solutions (AWS), software control distribution, end-user client, remote support and assistance, configuration management, multifunctional printing, on-site services, unattended installations and server-based computing.

Managed client device

This service provides remote management of end-user devices such as the desktop, laptops and PDAs. As a centralised, remote service, it utilises the latest infrastructure tooling to reduce cost and improve performance quality.

Multifunctional printing

This service integrates the existing print and copy function to one device. It makes additional functionality like scanning and follow-me printing available to the end-user. To enable the smooth running of the service, fleet management can be added to manage the output infrastructure. When integrated with Atos™ Workplace Solutions, this approach guarantees cost reductions.

On-site services

Our on-site services provide Tier 2 support. Where the service desk or another remote team are not able to resolve a problem, an engineer can be sent to a site to address the issue.

PC software packaging

Our PC software packaging service enables an unattended and uninterrupted installation of new or updated applications within a customer’s installed workplace environment.

Workplace transformation

Workplace transformation services help to standardise and modernise a customer’s existing end-user workplaces – including client and back-end components – to significantly reduce ongoing costs. They cover all activities from assessment to roll-out, including design, build and pilot.

Asset and configuration management

This service ensures that IT assets within the scope of the contract are managed in a cost-effective and efficient manner. Based on ITIL standards, the service provides a consistent and high-level performance.

This service focuses on three aspects of delivery:

  • Hardware inventory management – hardware asset data is captured and maintained in a hardware asset inventory. The application of strict change management processes ensures that data remains accurate.
  • Software inventory management – software asset data is captured and maintained in a software asset inventory. Reconciling software deployment and utilisation with invoices ensures that usage is legally compliant. Compliance statements are produced on a regular basis.
  • Configuration management – by maintaining a configuration management database (CMDB) of relationships between assets (configurable items), the impact of change can be fully understood.

This service will be applied to all IT assets within the scope of the service including desktop, server, network, storage, printers and so forth. In addition, customer compliant inventories can be included within the CMDB.
